Can’t think of a topic
Posted: September 18, 2007 Filed under: Creeping frustrations 12 Comments »So the Maoist quit the government, which further sums up me coining Nepal as a “Nation of uncertainty”. I was reading the warnings put forward by Maoist Deputy regarding the CA Polls; they want the Monarchy abolished before the polls while the PM wants the first meet of CA to decide it. Why did the Maoist sign the agreement before to let CA decide the fate (I’m not sure if they had agreed, please correct me if not), and now suddenly baby crying again? There goes one more addition to prevalent list of unaccountable leaders and parties. If the Parties/King/Leaders were some folders in my desktop, I would have simply deleted them (even from recycle bin
) and look for a fresh start.
It looks almost certain that I will be coming to Nepal this December, so I shared my frustration with one my colleague. She gave me very funny and most unexpected reply, “why don’t you guy’s sacrifice a goat for the good functioning of the government?”
Wow, what an image we have built. I am sure you guy’s know about Nepal Airlines sacrificing goat for their prosperity and proper functioning.
Tell your colleage we sacrifice only animals(lesser evil). Some of the prosperous nations sacrifice innocent lives to sustain their prosperity. That should suffice to keep her …………shut.
Nepali Akash,
you are spot on when you said “some of the prosperous nations sacrifice innocent lives to sustain their prosperity”, but that has nothing to do with an individual.
If there is corruption, nepotism in Nepal doesn’t mean that you and I are corrupt too. Kathmandu is not clean doesn’t mean all Kathmanduites are dirty. So I was shocked with the generalisation you came up with, without even knowing the person.
If National flag bearer airlines sacrifices goats to overcome their misery, anyone not from our culture can certainly be misleaded. I saw the funny side and you saw the other, anways it’s cool.
BTW, sorry I had to edit your few words with dots.
No hard feelings bro, but i didn’t see why the world “mouth” had to be edited. wink wink !!!
I don’t think I need to know her personally to throw that comment cos it was not directed personally to her anyway.
Please review what you wrote quoting her: “why don’t you guy’s sacrifice a goat for the good functioning of the government?”
If that is a satire, mine is a satire too. If she is making generalization, then mine is one too. What difference does it make anyway?
In the same line as yours, NAC sacrificing the goat has nothing to do with “good functioning of the government”.
If, as you said,”anyone not from our culture can certainly be misleaded”;she better be wise enough to see the THICK line between the gov and airlines.
And no, I saw the funny side too.But I saw more than that in her reckless comment.
I don’t see what generalizations I made that “shocked” you. Please enlighten me where did I go wrong.
Admit it or not: Violence and indiscipline are in our genes.
We bloody Nepalese deserve to suffer.
When the people responsible for current state of Nepal Airlines are being either honored (with a high profile post of our country) or being given clean cheat, we can not have better option for functioning of planes than sacrificing goats.
I took this act as a warning to the high profile people in Nepal pointing the status of NA. At least, I am happy that this act (of sacrificing goat) seems foolish but its far better than lots of scandals (we might know only few of them) that gripped NA for long.
And for the political news, no comment… It looks straight, but I think it is not… Every time I start digging, my finger starts pointing at one country… But, I will not mention that…
ह्या, कत्ति कुरा गर्नु है, जति गरे नि उस्तै हो।
बरु, Have a nice weekend. नेपाल गए पछि त बाँचिन्छ कि मरिन्छ। अब त छानी छानी मार्न थाले। बिदेश हुदैँ हो मोज गर्ने।
Prof. LOL
Nepali Akash,
I was more concerned with the adjective that you had used before ‘mouth’ wink wink !!! Thanks to her for keeping track of global news, unlike majority of Americans that don’t know the news of city across.
Keshav,
I don’t fully agree with you, it’s due to our lack of infrastructure and policy in streamlining the enthusiasm, energy, and exuberance of our youth.
Prof LOL,
Like always, couldn’t agree with you more
Prajwol,
OK…
I can give a long (written) lecture to make you agree with me.
But anyways, leave it (for next time).
But which point you could not agree with? All three? or the second one? It always to better to know.
Prof. LOL
Prof LOL,
I mean’t, “I agree with you”, but the language was written in twisted fashion, so gave you the wrong impression
Though, I will certainly like to hear more of your views on “that one country”
Ha.. ha…
Thanks, Prajwol for clarification. It was indeed a wrong impression. I was worried.
What a way of agreeing!
I guess you know that one country. Just read ‘Time’ and they are even monitoring what you read. Probably monitoring blogs using ‘robots’. Not safe to discuss this in public.
Who knows, I might end up working or studying in that country (but will try to avoid every possible chance).
Prof. LOL
i still didnt get what adjective u are talking about.
Nepali Akash,
I was talking about f#c*i@g..
forget about it yaar
hehe
oops !!! my bad !!!
