My vacation
Posted: July 9, 2008 Filed under: My bandwagon 5 Comments »I recently concluded my much awaited vacation to the east coast. I hadn’t been anywhere since returning back from Nepal (seven months ago), so this vacation was long over due. I have to confess, this was one of the best vacation for me.
I dropped by briefly at ANA convention at Baltimore. It seems that I don’t enjoy mass anymore, I couldn’t stay there for long. Besides, none of my friends were interested anyways. However, I heard that the convention was a big success (at least attendance wise).
I always wanted to revisit Ocean City (in Maryland), and I finally got a chance after 4 years since my last trip. The weather was not good for the beach, but I was very happy just to be there. I had lots of old memories from this city. We swam, dined, drank, and yelled our throats out on rides. The hotel costs during 4th of July sky rockets here so we couldn’t stay overnight, but I do plan to come back again sometime for a night stand.
I have been to Washington DC twice before, and still there are hundreds of places I need to visit. This time I continued the trend of exploring new places: I went to Jefferson memorial and Frank D. Roosevelt Park. After encircling other monuments from vehicle itself, we then went to Georgetown. Georgetown was pretty impressive; I wish we had more time to roam around there. After few hours of walk we then had a big dinner at an Ethiopian restaurant.
Finally, none of stuffs mentioned above would have been fun without friends. I think both I and my wife are blessed with such good friends: from the time I stepped my foot out from Regan National Airport to the same airport back, there were friends around. Despite my short schedule we also managed to cook ourselves dinners and spare some time for booze, like the way we did in our grad school. Guys, thanks for such a wonderful time.
Makes me feel little envious. We planned for couple things for the july 4th weekend but ended up going nowhere. Your Vacation sounds pretty interesting and funfilled. Thanks for sharing.

Saurav,
I’m not sure if you are student or not, if you are then I strongly recommend you to enjoy vacations. Travel around the country now when time is not a limiting factor. I regret not doing so many things.
Deependra ji,
Welcome to my blog and thanks for your comment. I did add you to my blogroll.
Pleasure having you and yours here. Next time I expect to see a ‘beach body’ though.
Side note: It was probably worth mentioning that the Ethiopian restaurant we went to had entertained celebrity guests with the likes of Sen. Hillary Clinton, Clint Eastwood, Chris Tucker, Mike Tyson, Rudy Guiliani and others. Not a bad list…
RT,
for me to have a beach body I guess we have to change the definition of “beach body”
